Bio...

My first introduction to art came in the house where I grew up.  It was a Wassily Kandinsky "Composition" and it fascinated me.  I would lie on the couch for hours studying the shapes and colors, trying to decipher the hidden meaning.  The Kandinsky had been on the wall when my father bought the house. My parents were not art collectors...that is, not until I began to draw and paint at my little white table.

Art never fit into my schedule in high school or college. Passing art rooms and gazing in at window sills lined with jars of paint brushes and walls covered with drawings and paintings created a desire that was not fulfilled until years later. Finally I realized that my love of color needed to be expressed, so I made a commitment to daily artistic endeavor.

I have since donated paintings to various causes and fundraisers, been a juried artist in fairs and shows, and become a juried member of the Louisville Artisans Guild and KORE Gallery in Louisville, Kentucky.  My work can be found in homes across the United States and in Canada.

My Artist's Statement...

Art is all around us if we are aware… Colors, shapes, patterns, repetition, moods. My pieces are usually not planned, they emerge and evolve with an energy of their own. I am merely a willing and enthusiastic conduit.

"Color directly influences the soul.  Color is the keyboard, the eyes are the hammers, the soul is the piano with many strings.  The artist is the hand that plays, touching one or another purposively, to cause vibrations in the soul."    ~Wassily Kandinsky
